My Little Pilgrims

One more year of the pilgrims...whew! I was so worried that my big boy would not be up for dressing up for a photo shoot this year. I had actually kind of resigned myself to the idea that I wouldn't get one this year. I tried to bring it up tactfully..."Hey guys we are going to do pilgrim pictures this weekend!" Big A was all "Mooooommmm, That is SO dorky, I can't let anyone see me like that!" "We are going to Gardner Village when they are closed, there wont be ANYONE around." Really Mom? Really?" and he gives me the raised eyebrow that he is working a lot lately. Then he says the golden phrase "I'll do it for $5!" Little a chimes in "I want $5 too!"

I am not proud to admit it but I am NOT above bribing my children. $10 in the piggy banks and I have one more year of AMAZING pics of A and A in full on Pilgrim mode!

My Little Pilgrims

One of my Favorite Thanksgiving traditions is to dress up A and a and take some pics of my cute pilgrims. I worry this is the last year Big A is going to let me do a "Pilgrims" photo shoot. I decided to go all out this year and do it at Gardner Village. Big A kind of freaked out "I look like  DORK!" I assured him that is was Sunday and Gardner Village was closed so no one would be around. I did not tell him I planned on plastering the pics around the house and on line. The resulting pics turned out TOO cute and the Pilgrim pieces from last year still fit so no sewing for Momma this year (yea!) I hope next year Big A will think it's ironically cool and do it again but alas I don't think too man 8-year-olds get ironically cool....

My Little Ballerina

Our little A has taken Ballet at the Classical Ballet Conservatory in Gardner Village for a little over a year now. It is amazing how much she has grown and changed in that year. She pays so much more attention and is so much more focused (well for a 4 year-old).

This weekend was the mini showcase "Breakfast with the Ballet" a chance for the dancers to perform a small piece for friends and family to see how they are doing (the full formal recital will be in the spring).

Our little A did such and amazing job! I am so proud of our beautiful Ballerina! Check out the performance below (Little A is the one in the middle)

Our "Witchy Woo" is a Dancing Queen

Our sweet little A got to play Witchy at a fun performance at Gardner Village. One of our local favorites is the fun and festive Gardner Village. In October the “Village” gets taken over by “Witches” and is filled with all kinds of fun and festive Halloween things. The biggest event is its “Witches Night Out,” that is a kind of fun shopping extravaganza that is crazy popular. This year Little A’s Ballet class was given the opportunity to do a little performance at Witches Night Out. I gotta tell you I can’t think of anything cuter than a group of adorable 3 year olds dancing away. Their costumes were SO cute and their song “Witchy Woo” by the Wiggles was adorable and perfectly bouncy for the little ones.  Little A was NOT at all intimidated or shy. She bounced right up on that stage and did a FANTASTIC job. She shimmied and tapped  and remembered all of her “moves,” it was amazing. She is a natural performer.

At Practice

At the Studio being a goofball!

Our Little Ballerina

Our little A is such a character. At three she is so sharp and on the ball. She is ready for action and always wanting to do, go, see. We decided to put her in a Ballet class and see how she would do. We weren’t sure at three how it would go but it has been WONDERFUL! The teacher is perfect! She has stretches and warm ups that are like games, just right for a 3 year old. Our favorite is “Hello toes (flex feet), good bye toes (point feet).  She is so patient and kind with the girls. Little A loves it and asks almost every day if it is “Dance Class Day.”
It’s also nice for her to have something that is hers. We were explaining to Big A about how he doesn’t have school on the weekends just like Mommy and daddy don’t have work and little A piped in, “Ummm, what about dance class? Do I have dance class on weekends?” So cute that she has “her thing” now too!

Annual Trip to Gardner Village

It's Fall in Utah and that means it's Witchy-Poo time at Gardner Village.
We always so enjoy all the fun festivities and
I can't help but take some fun pics of my little Monsters.
